"Processing" - Garmin Download Manager won't load to update maps

I'm trying to download a Map Update for my Garmin GPS.  I get stuck on "Processing," meaning once it gets to the point of running the Garmin Download Manager, it never progresses further.  I'm running Windows XP SP3; IE v.
7.  I've removed the Google toolbar,
disabled Ad-Aware, disabled the AVG anti-virus, disabled Windows Firewall, reset IE Security to default levels, and unchecked "Enable third party browser extensions" (all suggestions I've read posted on web).  Any other ideas?

Try upgrading to IE8.
It allows downloads of up to 4GB
or
Post back with the link to the download page of the Third-party product you are trying to install.

"dead" digital locker in vista ultimate

in vista ultimate sp1 when i open the digital locker assistant i just see an empty window.
it had happened before and i don't know what causes it.

i have solved it before only with a clean install of the OS again, but i can't reinstall vista again, i did it two days ago.

Notification about deep freeze without ever installing it.

I recently received a message from the action center telling me Deep Freeze has stopped working.
Problem is, I never installed Deep Freeze and a search for Deepfrz.sys turns up nothing.
Needless to say, this is a bit worrisome.
could anyone tell me what's
going on and how to get rid of  it?

Method 1:
 
I would suggest you to check in the programs list whether it is installed.
 
Follow the below steps:
 
a.       Click on Start
b.      Click on Control Panel
c.       Click on Programs
d.      Click on Programs and Features
e.      Check the program from the list
 
The file name would be DF5Std.exe by default.
So I would suggest you to look for the file.
It could be installed with other program.
 
Method 2:
 
Try to run the full virus scan with Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps.
