Hi Rick,

1.
Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

Do you have wired or wireless internet connection?

What is the make and model of the computer?
4.
Are you logged in as the administrator?

Here are a few methods which you can follow to resolve the issue:

This might be happening if the network adapter is allowed to be disabled to save power on hibernation.
To uncheck the setting follow steps:

Click start and open Device Manager.
b.
Expand Network Adapters
c.
Right click on the Network adapter installed on your computer
d.
Go to Properties
e.
On the Power Management tab uncheck all the boxes and apply the settings
f.
Restart the computer and check if the network card works fine.

Method 2:
To enable auto-connect to a certain WiFi network do the following:
a.
Click Start
b.
Click Control Panel
c.
Click Network and Internet
d.
Click Network and Sharing Center
e.
Next to View your active networks click Connect or disconnect.
f.
Right-Click the desired network and select properties.

g.
On the connection tab of the new window check "Connect Automatically"
also check “Connect even if the network is not broadcasting its name (SSID)”.
